Kasiiya Papagayo contains just a handful of award-winning tented suites positioned across an extensive 123-acre (50 hectare) private peninsula of pristine jungle and beach in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We provide three knowledgeable local nature guides to introduce you to the wonders of the last tropical dry forest in Central America as well as the extraordinary local communities that call it home.
Kasiiya’s tented suites enhance a sense of place by immersing guests within nature. We don’t shut the outside world out. This is our approach to suite positioning and habitat conservation. In this way, guests feel an organic welcome by the natural environment. With so few suites positioned on the beach and two on the cliffside with sunset views, Kasiiya offers guests the ultimate escape and privacy.
The word ‘kasiiya’ means ‘pace of life’ in Swahili. We believe each individual has their own rhythm, and our team enables guests to find it by strengthening their bond with nature.

Set amid the calm and seclusion of Costa Rica’s spectacular natural surroundings, each handcrafted Kasiiya suite is a charming, private retreat in its own right. Generously sized, all eco-suites offer unparalleled comfort, privacy and security. Each suite is exquisitely designed to allow your choice of air conditioning or the free-flowing fresh air of the jungle that surrounds you.
The healing spa is located deep within the jungle where our healer tailors treatments to address the specific needs of each guest. Where possible, we source and produce all oils and ointments on site, using ingredients from the surrounding environment.
This year we have also completed a new pavilion and offer all guests an introduction to mindful movement.
With three secluded sand-covered beaches, guests can enjoy a wide range of water sports like snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing and scuba diving throughout the day at Kasiiya. Why not explore the exceptional marine life of Punta Gorda, directly in front of our Beach Cabana? Snorkeling equipment, kayaks and coaches are available from the Adventure Tent.
If you are not allowed to travel from the country you come from due to Covid-19 imposed measures, the total amount of the payments you made to Kasiiya can be used towards a future booking within two calendar years. Should you need to cancel your reservation for any other reasons, our normal cancellation policy will apply.
From May to June we experience light to moderate rain, July and August are typically sunny with a very light chance of rain. In September and October, we experience heavy rain and lighter rain in November when we start transitioning to our dry season.
We believe it is better to make plans while you are at the property, enjoying coconut water in front of the ocean and having a better sense of the land and the options. However, as we only have one healer, we do recommend letting our concierge team know if you are interested in booking a healing session with him. Depending on your preference, all experiences can be arranged either upon arrival, within just a day’s notice, or weeks before your stay with our friendly Concierge Team over email.
